Joan Puaté

Joan Puaté is Cluster Manager at the Cluster Digital of Catalonia (CLDI) and a Telecommunications Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He is a multi-disciplinary consultant with expertise in smart city technologies, business processes, and municipal strategies, combining technical knowledge with project management and coordination skills.

He holds a Master in Smart Cities (UdG, 2014) and a Postgraduate in Big Data & Data Analytics (UPC, 2015). His professional experience includes consulting on smart city solutions such as sensor networks, city indicators, and strategic plans, as well as data management and analysis applied to urban development.

Joan has significant international experience, including opening offices in Cochabamba (Bolivia) and Abu Dhabi (UAE), working as a development engineer in Stuttgart (Germany), and conducting research in Lausanne (Switzerland). He also presented his paper “Using a fractal compression scheme to embed a digital signature into an image” at the international conference Photonics East’96 in Boston (USA).

He offers mentorship in smart city project development, digital solutions for urban management, and data-driven innovation, supporting partners in implementing technology strategies that improve efficiency and citizen well-being.

At the Cluster Digital of Catalonia (CLDI), Rosa leads corporate communication activities, develops communication strategies for ongoing projects, and maintains a strong brand image and reputation. She has extensive experience managing digital content, social media, press releases, events, and coordinating third-party stakeholders, including designers and communication or marketing agencies.

In her role within projects, Rosa ensures effective communication throughout project execution, working closely with the team to develop and implement strategies that align with project objectives and maintain high standards of quality and timeliness. She offers mentorship in project communication, digital marketing strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

He has authored several peer-reviewed publications on water treatment, big data applications, and the circular economy, and regularly presents at international conferences.

Vlatka holds an MSc in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development, and an MBA in Innovation Management. She has co-authored several scientific publications on circular economy, big data applications, and sustainable business models, and regularly presents at international conferences.
